This Class funded is by the Breeding Grant Initiative, under National Breeding Services with thanks to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and delivered by Horse Sport Ireland.
SEPARATE RING FOR EACH SECTION
- Please have your passports available on Show Day.
- All Competitors MUST be suitably dressed.
- Horses can only compete in Classes in which they have been entered - NO changes on Show Day.
- All exhibitors leading, riding or showing equines in competition must be 16 years of age or over on 1 January 2026, unless otherwise stated in the class detail.
- It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure that they arrive on time/enter in the correct class/classes and to ensure that they fulfil eligibility requirements to enter said class.
Judging commences 11.30am sharp in Class Order
- Mares may only enter in lightweight or heavyweight class
- First Prizewinners debarred from further competition excl. qualifiers
- Please have your passports available on Show Day
Rules & Conditions.
- Entries are confined to registered non-thoroughbred broodmares with a foal at foot.
- This Class is open to any studbook registered mare with ‘a specific breed’ documented within their studbook passport, which must be stated on Entry Form. Non Studbook animals are not eligible for this Class.
- Full Breeding details of Mare & Foal Must be stated.
- Name & address of Breeder Must be stated. Breeder’s Prize will only be awarded to breeders residing on the Island of Ireland.
- Exhibitors Must ensure that all information provided is accurate and up to date.
- Each Mare & Foal will be judged as a Unit. (50% Mare / 50% Foal)
- Foals Must be led at all times.
- Prizewinners will receive a ‘success letter’ on Show Day which includes details on redeeming prizemoney. Full payment details via the linked payment form must be submitted to H. S. I. within 7 days of the Class or they will not receive prizes
- Horse Sport Ireland accept no responsibility for prizes not paid due to incorrect and ineligible prize letters provided on Show Day.
- Exhibitors Must have the Mare’s passport ready for inspection prior to entry to the judging ring.
Failure to comply with these Rules will lead to immediate disqualification.
Entry Fee : €20
Prizes: First €500. Second €350. Third €200. Fourth - Seventh €100.
€150 to Breeder of Wnning Mare.
€100 for Best T.I.H, Foal ( if applicable)
No entries permitted on day of event.
